August 19, 2007: Los Encuentros to Chimaltenango, Guatemala
A very pleasant "normal" touring ride. Quite a change after the recent every-day BIG climbs. Modest climbs, reasonable descents. And the road was quiet enough, with a bit of shoulder almost all the time. It was a Sunday, so maybe it was quieter than normal, but this stretch of the Pan-American highway was pretty pleasant for us. And Chimaltenango turns out to be a mighty pretty town.
