May 21, 2008: El Tablon to Chachagui
Short climb to a descent way back down to 900 meters. After crossing the river at the bottom we began a 1900 meter climb up to the hill above Pasto. (We only rode to Chachagui this day. But the climb was uninterrupted.) There are two unlit tunnels, one on the downhill and one on the uphill. Randy wrecked in one when he panicked about the (always exaggerated) sound of a vehicle behind made it sound too close and he got too close to the side. It was stupid, but wrecks always are. No real harm done. I recommend lights in the tunnel.
