Nice ride with good (dirt, 25k or so) cutoff via Bella Vista and a boat across the Rio Marañon. The turnoff to Bella Vista is well marked. If you were coming the other way, the turnoff to the river and Bella Vista is a major intersection marked as the turnoff to the PetroPeru refinery. The cutoff eliminates 60km or so and also misses Jaén. This stretch is all paved except the part on both sides of the river, probably about 25km in total.
