Great way to get out of Tegucigalpa - we took the road to Valle de Ángeles, which goes straight out from the Parque Central. Up, up, up of course. Paved all the way past Valle de Ángeles to San Juancito.

At San Juancito we started to push our bikes up the tremendously steep road to El Rosario and the park, but decided it was useless. Hired a pickup and got there before sundown. Otherwise we would have died trying.

Leaving, we found out there's a more gentle approach. It's longer and might be possible to ride (at least much of it). Look at our leaving route for details.
