From Taxco south, our riding became more transportation than the simple "moseying through Mexico" that we'd been doing most of the time. We even joined the superhighway "autopista" because it's lots shorter and has a big shoulder. But the night we spent camped in this spot right by the highway was a bit noisier than we'd anticipated.

The next night we got off the autopista just before dark and found a dirt road leading to an isolated town. With mixed feelings, we went ahead and road into the town, which turned out to be San Martin del Jovero. It was minutes before we had a whole audience. (And we had a whole audience for the entire evening)

From Taxco south we were trying to go faster and rode on the autopista, the modern toll-road superhighway. It was fast, short, and had a wonderful shoulder. But it was like leaving Mexico altogether. There are few exits and no towns on this stretch of highway.

On a lark we spent our last day "deep sea fishing". We did see a whale, dolphins, and turtles, but saw not one fish. So we just cruised around all day. On the way in, though, we bought this fresh fish from a fisherman and Nancy fixed it up into a beautiful dinner.
