January 31, 2008: Estelí to Jinotega
Big back-dirt-road day. We decided to go the back way, and ended up on the back-back way (through San Marcos instead of through La Concordia). It was a very pleasant day, but lots of work and we were tired at the end.
Met a Peace Corps volunteer living out in the middle of nowhere; a lady in San Marcos fixed us a much needed meal - the only comedor was shut. They told us about how good Somoza had been.
Got sick that night with a big fever, so we spent a couple of days in Jinotega.
